How It's Made
From corn to apparel
We start with an abundant natural raw material like CORN that can be easily & efficiently produced each year (see Vial #1).
The corn is ground into STARCH (see Vial #2).
The starch is put through a simple process to make plant sugars called DEXTROSE (see Vial #3).
The sugars are then fermented to LACTIDE (see Vial #4).
Lactide is transformed into a high performance polymer, polylacticacid, P.L.A. pellets (see Vial #5).
INGEO FILAMENT is extruded from the P.L.A. (see Vial #6).
The filiment is cut into various lengths to create INGEO FIBER (see Vial #7).
This is then spun into yarn for knitting or weaving to create unsurpassed performance apparel.
